PHILOSOPHY

We believe it is the parent's right, freedom, and responsibility to decide the best schooling for their child(ren). We also beleive in creating a safe cooperative by having all parents participate. We do not talk about any one particular religion, but we do encourage teaching regarding God and believe we should have the freedom to do so.

You may be able to volunteer for clean-up, to teach, and/or play-time or preschool. You may know of others willing to participate. And once you get to know us you may just need a safe place for your child to be while you run an errand. These are what make this a cooperative group, we are all participating for the greater good of the whole.

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION IS TO ASSIST WITH A SAFE AND FRIENDLY LOCATION FOR OTHER HOME SCHOOL FAMILIES TO VOLUNTEER AND TEACH CLASSES WITH OUR COOPERATIVE. ALSO, TO OFFER CLASSES WHICH MAY BE A CHALLENGE FOR PARENTS TO INSTRUCT THEIR CHILDREN.

Hold Harmless Agreement
By enrolling your children in North Carson  Home-school Co-op, you agree to the following North Carson Home-school Co-op, its members and instructors and The Church on North Carson Street assume no liability and make no assumptions of risk for anyone attending North Carson Home-school Co-op. In addition, parents are directly responsible for the actions of their children. Compensation for injury or damages, either deliberate or accidental, shall be borne entirely by the responsible family.

Day of the Week

Currently we hold our cooperative on Fridays. Depending upon the demand and classes offered for 3 to 4, 50 minute timeslots. We also think it is very important for children and parents to have social interaction and currently offer a 30 minute lunch/social time.

We take a poll at the end of each semester to find out if the day/times still meet the needs of parents and students and may adjust accordingly. Of course the active teacher /volunteer has more input.

Volunteer

This is one of the most important aspects of our success. Our cooperative cannot funtion without parent involvement. It is alot of work to put classes together, scheduling, meet the demands of co-op communication, and cleaning the church location. We need parents who are committed to assisting to the greater good of North Carson Homeschool Cooperative.

Unfortunatley, not all the wants of every parent can be met. However, if we come together in a cooperating group we may meet all of our needs.

Suggested Classes

We take suggestions for classes. Maybe you have curriculum for a class you would like to have your child take but with other students. We also have other parents that may be willing to assist you with teaching a class. We can always put the information to our group and see what develops.

Currently, some suggested classes are Self-Defense and Body of Evidence.
